How to use the register

The register is built for one hand, a line of customers and a few seconds per person. There are two steps: find the customer, then add the stamp.

Step 1: find the customer

The quick way is Scan card. The camera opens, the customer shows the code on their phone, and their card comes up with their name and stamps. The first time, the browser asks for permission to use the camera. If the screen stays dark, that permission is missing. Search by phone is always there to keep going without the camera.

If the customer came without their phone, type their number under Came without their phone? and tap Search. You can switch to Search by email if that's easier. If nobody shows up, they haven't signed up yet: the register shows the sign-up QR so they can scan it on the spot, and a minute later they have a card. The register doesn't create customers.

Step 2: the stamp

With the customer on screen you see their card. If they still need stamps, the big button says Add stamp. One tap adds it.

When the card is full, the big button changes to Give reward: and the reward you wrote. Tap it and the card starts over. Below it is Add stamp and save the reward for another visit, for a customer who wants to keep collecting today. If they also buy something, look them up again and add the stamp.

If your card has milestone rewards, each one the customer has reached shows as its own Give reward: button above Add stamp. Giving a milestone doesn't use stamps. When a full card still has milestones not handed out, the register lists them under With the final reward, also hand over: and gives them all together.

The amount is optional

You don't have to enter what the customer paid to add a stamp. If you want the purchase in your sales history, and the Dashboard to show sales and average ticket, open Record the purchase amount (optional) and type it before stamping. That's also the only time a minimum purchase applies, if you set one.

If your card earns stamps by amount spent (for example, one stamp every $10), the amount decides how many stamps are added, and the register shows you the count before you confirm.

Undo and next customer

After each stamp or reward you see the updated card and two buttons. Undo cancels what you just did and the customer's history shows it as voided. Next customer takes you back to the search. If you add a second stamp to the same customer within a minute and a half, the register asks whether it's another purchase before adding it.

An operator can only undo their own entries, within 10 minutes. A stamp that came from a sale with an amount is voided by voiding the sale, which the owner or an admin does from Sales. Anything else an operator can't undo, an admin voids from the customer's page, with a reason.

If your business uses points

The points register has three steps: Customer, Sale and Charge. You find the customer the same way, by scanning their card or by phone. In Sale you type the total, or tap products if you set up your catalog. In Charge you see the customer's rewards and how many points each one still needs. If they pick one, the discount comes off the total or the register tells you which item to hand over, and the points are taken when you charge. If they don't redeem today, choose No reward and the points still add up.

For a customer who only came for their reward, there's Redeem a reward without a sale. If your program earns points per visit, a button adds the visit's points without entering a sale. The guide on how to set up your points program explains the rewards menu.
